About Us
We are a bright open planned premises with numerous windows allowing lots of natural daylight in. There is 24-hour security on the premises. The nursery is owned by Melanie Pike and David Turner and managed by Melanie, qualified level 5, Melanie has over 18 years of experience working within the childcare sector.
We accept all children and respect them all as individuals, regardless of gender, race, religion, ability or culture. At Sunflower Day Nursery we believe that it's important that all the children that come into our home-from-home environment build a warm relationship with our staff. For this, we have a minimum attendance of 2 full days and 3 half days per week. Our main language is English, but Welsh will be used daily throughout activities.

At Sunflower Day Nursery we want our parents to feel confident when leaving their children with us about the quality of care that we provide and for our parents to have no concerns for their child's health and welfare.
Sunflower Day Nursery is registered by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW). We offer full day care from Birth - 8-year-old boys and girls from 7.00am - 6.30pm, Monday to Friday for 52 weeks of the year and have a capacity for 50 children Monday to Friday. (we will close on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day). The nursery will also be closed on the public bank holidays.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Our overall aim is to provide a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere offering your little ones, fun-filled days of learning through play indoors and outdoors ('all weather') ensuring their time in the Nursery are happy and fun and allowing them to build their confidence and self-esteem and making lots of new little friends.

Welsh Language
To promote the Welsh language in our day to day greetings, words, phrases, songs and story time.

To offer on our menu's healthy, balanced meals and provide alternatives and cater for dietary requirements.

For the children to learn to value and respect the differences in themselves and their friends at the Nursery and to respect diversity.
Individual needs
To ensure that each individual child that attends Nursery has the opportunity to learn and develop at their own pace.
WRAP AROUND CARE
We provide a wraparound service, which includes breakfast, lunch and tea. The sessions include collecting children from the following schools. At Sunflower day nursery we ensure that all schools receive pictures and names of the staff team who will be collecting the children from the schools to ensure that the safety of our children is met at all times.
